John Kitchen is the Vice President and General Manager of Esri Canada, which provides enterprise geographic information system (GIS) solutions to customers in the private and public sectors. He is responsible for developing business strategies to achieve the company's objectives and optimize new business opportunities.
Mr. Kitchen has more than 30 years of experience in helping companies develop and execute their growth strategies. He has provided senior management expertise to leading international and Canadian companies including Procter & Gamble Inc. and National Educational Training Corp.
Prior to joining Esri Canada in 1998, Mr. Kitchen was president and CEO of Micromedia Limited, a leading provider of digital and print information products. He was instrumental in driving the company through significant growth, culminating in the sale of Micromedia to the IHS Group.
Mr. Kitchen sat on the Board of Directors of the York Technology Alliance (now TechConnex) from 2003 to 2012 and currently facilitates the Downtown Tech Executives Peer Group. Presidents, CEOs and COOs in fast-growth technology companies attend the peer group to openly discuss strategies and tactics for business success.
He holds an MBA and an Honours Bachelor of Science degree from Queen's University.
