Such a big project is never complete because places are always evolving, but this Canada 150 project, seven years in the making, now covers the majority of municipalities in the country.

HALIFAX, Esri Canada User Conference -November 14, 2017 – The Halifax Regional Municipality today received Esri Canada’s Award of Excellence for improving operations using geographic information system (GIS) technology. Halifax transitioned from a centralized method of implementing GIS applications, where departments received geospatial information products and services from a central group, to an enterprise approach for more effective delivery of location services.

TORONTO, Esri Canada User Conference -- October 18, 2017 – The City of Brampton today received Esri Canada’s Award of Excellence for using geographic information system (GIS) technology to support their Open Government initiative. The City developed Brampton GeoHub, an open data platform which has increased the transparency of the City government to residents and saved money.

This technology allows appraisers to conduct detailed valuations of condominiums, commercial buildings and individual units using 3D geoprocessing and analytics from their desktop.

TORONTO—June 29, 2017—Esri Canada has pledged more than $5 million in geographic information system (GIS) software to the Canadian Research Data Centre Network (CRDCN), a major research infrastructure providing access to data and enabling advanced statistical analyses of critical socio-economic and health issues facing Canadians. The donation will provide the network’s 1,600 researchers with free access to Esri’s ArcGIS technology.
