MONTRÉAL—February 26, 2018—Esri Canada congratulates Framestore, a visual arts studio with a presence in Montréal, for receiving a nomination for the 2018 Academy Award for Best Visual Effects. Designers at Framestore used Esri’s CityEngine application to recreate portions of the City of Las Vegas, Nevada as seen in the movie “Blade Runner 2049”, directed by Denis Villeneuve.

HALIFAX, Esri Canada User Conference -November 14, 2017 – The Halifax Regional Municipality today received Esri Canada’s Award of Excellence for improving operations using geographic information system (GIS) technology. Halifax transitioned from a centralized method of implementing GIS applications, where departments received geospatial information products and services from a central group, to an enterprise approach for more effective delivery of location services.
